SYNOPSIS

Synopsis of Film
Emma, Rachel, and April make up Dude Purse, an all girl punk band who find themselves preparing for their first gig. The girls find their friendship tested, when Emma’s former nemesis (and Rachel’s current girlfriend) shows up, putting the future of the band at stake.

Erin Richardson (co-writer/director)
Erin was born and raised in a generic middle-class family that hails from the mean streets of the Canadian suburbs. Disenchanted with the values of suburban living, she turned to film as an escape from a rather young age. Now a bored and jaded adult, she turns her angst into art by writing everything from short stories to feature length screenplays. She can often be found writing, honing her musical skills, or desperately attempting to avoid responsibility—and failing. She hopes you enjoy the product that she and her beloved team of brilliant colleagues have worked so tirelessly to bring you. Cheers, bitches!
Lucy Feng (Producer)
Lucy Feng is a Toronto filmmaker from Whitby, Ontario and is currently completing her Bachelor’s at Sheridan College. Her interests include production design, video editing and cinematography. “Girls, to the Front!” is Lucy’s first producing role, she is excited to try this field of film and give her best efforts to produce a unique and interesting short for her thesis year.

Maximillian Holt (Director of Photography)
Maximilian Holt is a trans cinematographer from Saskatoon woking in Toronto, ON. He pitched this film as an ode to New Queer Cinema and Riot Grrrl, and has chosen filmmaking over drumming, so this is the closest he'll ever come to being in a punk band.
